Frequently Asked Questions

What is Jailbreaking?
Jailbreaking is pretty much ‘breaking the iPod Touch and iPhone free from the clutches of Apple.’ It allows you to download third party applications from Cydia and Installer, most of which are free. You can customize your background, font, keyboard, and a lot more. There are many mods, tweaks, themes, and games waiting to be downloaded.
Will Jailbreaking Void my warranty?
Technically, yes, but if you restore your device to factory settings and delete all the jailbroken data before you send it to Apple for repair, they will never know you jailbroke your device and you will be back in warranty. For my video on how to “unjailbreak” your device, click here.
What is a Springboard?
It is the homescreen of your device. Whenever you press the home button (the circular button on the bottom of your device), you will return to your Springboard.
How do I Jailbreak my Device?
Is Jailbreaking Illegal?
Is Downloading Cracked Apps, Movies, & TV Shows Illegal?
Yes, it is. What you are doing is stealing from the developers and makers of the movies. If you download a cracked app and like it and want to keep it, then you SHOULD buy the app. And no, a S.W.A.T. Team will not come to your house in the middle of the night because you were downloading movies. Apple cannot figure out if you have cracked apps or not, although some developers are figuring out ways so that their apps know if they are cracked. I made a blog post about this so if you have more questions concerning this, click here.
What is DFU mode? What is it for?
DFU stands for Download Firmware Upgrade. It is for putting firmwares on your device, downgrading to a previous firmware, or unjailbreaking your device. This should only be used if the regular restore doesn’t work.
How do I put my device in DFU Mode?
You can follow these steps or watch my video here:
- Power device off and make sure you have it plugged into iTunes
- Hold down Home & Power buttons at the same time for 10 seconds.
- Release Power button and keep holding Home button for 10 more seconds.
- Your device will now be in DFU mode.
Now, you can do many things. Some things you can do on a jailbroken iPod Touch or iPhone but not on a regular iPhone or iPod Touch are:
- Download content form Safari such as videos & music, then watch it on dTunes or PwnPlayer.
- Download applications from Cydia that Apple doesn’t allow on the App Store.
- Customize your iPod Touch or iPhone with Winterboard.
- Run Applications in the Background.
- Use iPhone’s camera for videos.
- And a whole lot more…
There are countless ways why you should jailbreak, but here are just a few:
- There is no way to mess up your iPhone or iPod Touch beyond repair. It is very hard to do. If you do happen to mess it up, you can always put it in DFU mode to restore it.
- There are countless ways to customize the way your iPhone or iPod Touch looks with backgrounds, themes, and more.
- You can downloads music, videos, and pretty much anything with Safari Download Plug-in.
- You can use dTunes to play these downloaded videos & music.
- Jailbreaking doesn’t take anything away, it only adds more things to do.
- You can get apps that we removed/not approved for the iTunes app store (ex. GV Mobile).
- With Jailbreaking,you can…

Make sure you read all the steps before you do this!

For this to work, you must have Win RAR installed on your windows computer or RAR Expander for your mac computer. You can also watch my video here.
- SSH into your device and navigate to /var/mobile/Library/Downloads.
- Copy and Paste the RAR file onto your desktop.
- Open the file and drag the file onto your desktop.
